About Like Family
We're an NDIS registered disability and aged care support provider, helping people find qualified support workers they genuinely connect with. Since 2016, we've arranged over 1.8 million hours of social care across Australia through thousands of dedicated Social Carers.
We were founded on the lived experience of our co-founders, Mat and Jenna, after Mat's parents were diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. What they realised was that while medical care was essential, what his parents really needed was company. Someone to spend time with, share experiences, and help them stay connected to their community.

We’ll take the time to match your child with a Support Worker who truly understands them - someone who suits their personality, interests and needs.
Simple and affordable rates
Our disability support services start at $62 per hour, which is 11% below the NDIS price guide for 1:1 social supports. We also offer group bookings (with one or two other Members), overnight care, and online video bookings.
Whether you're an NDIS participant or you’re paying out of pocket, our services are affordable regardless of your funding.

Our application only takes 5 minutes and lets us know about your child’s needs, hobbies, goals and preferences.
Choose your favourite Carer
Based on your child’s personality and preferences we’ll show you your best matches. You choose which one you like best.
Make your booking
Your first session is free to make sure your child and their Carer get along. Once you’ve found the right fit, set up hang outs at a frequency that suits you and your child.

Where is Like Family located?
We have support workers across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia. We also offer phone and video bookings if you live out of area.
Is Like Family a registered NDIS provider?
Yes, and we have been since 2016! This means we can provide social support services to agency, plan managed and self-managed NDIS participants.
Why are your rates so much lower than the NDIS Price Limit?
We can offer more affordable rates because we specialise in social and community support (and don't offer medical care). Our focus on community participation is designed to maximise the amount of care you receive, so you can set bigger and better goals for your Core Support and Capacity Building plans.
Can I use my NDIS funding with Like Family?
You can use the following 5 NDIS support categories with us: Assistance with Daily Life, Assistance with Social and Community Participation, Increased Social and Community Participation, Improved Daily Living, Improved Health and Wellbeing.
How you use your funding will depend on what's reasonable and necessary to help you achieve your goals!
What ages does Like Family support?
Like Family can support children over 8 years old via Social Carers that have working with children checks. Please note, a guardian or parent should be present when services are provided to a Member under the age of 18 for insurance purposes.
Can my child meet a support worker before getting started.
Of course! Members get 5 FREE Meet and Greets when they join the platform. You can use these to get to know different support workers and see which one is the right fit for your child before you start making regular bookings.
How do I know the support workers are verified?
All Like Family Support Workers are rigorously vetted, requiring a NDISWC or police check, Working with Children Check/Blue Card, and 3 verified references before joining the platform.
We pride ourselves on carefully reviewing the profiles of each Social Carer to ensure they meet our standards and we don’t accept any support workers we wouldn’t want taking care of our own families.
