Find ongoing personalised support, participate in the community, and work towards independence with Australia's fastest-growing network of Social Carers.
A Social Carer is more than a support worker.
They're a mentor, a friend, a big brother or sister. They're like family.
There are two ways to get set up with a Social Carer to meet your social support:
It would be great if he could practice having conversations with someone his age.”
This is like a job advertisement. Specify the time, date and what you have in mind.
Choose and message someone who aligns with your interests and needs.
Every Social Carer at Like Family goes through a carefully designed verification process to ensure they're the right fit for our community. This process consists of four key stages that must be passed successfully by all hoping to become a Social Carer:
An online test to ensure they are applicants that will honor and uphold our Community Values
An NDIS Workers Check, consisting of a comprehensive police and background check, and a Working With Children's Check if they wish to work with Members under 18
A minimum of two glowing references from previous colleagues and personal contacts, each required to answer questions around the Social Carers ability to perform exceptionally in their role
A group interview in which they will meet with a Like Family representative and be required to demonstrate high levels of both problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
You can use your NDIS support plan to pay for your bookings and get a helping hand or someone to hang out with, whenever you need it.TELL ME MORE
