Hi, my name is William, After discovering this wonderful organisation online, I knew I had found exactly what I have been searching for, for quite some time. Helping people, day in day out, is how I hope to spend the rest of my life and what an opportunity this is! This all began 3 years ago when I started working at a swim school, teaching children of all ages and all skill sets, from special needs to competitive strokes. I am highly regarded in my swim school with super happy children and lots of praise from their parents. Spending time with people that are looking for a little something extra in life is where I feel my greatest sense of purpose. I'm gifted with a great sense of companionship and have many skills and talents, including music, along with a wide host of instruments. I love to sing and dance, go for walks or hikes, kick or throw a football around, swim or relax at the beach and I pick up new activities and ideas well. Finally, I have great attention to detail and I am open and all ears when I need to be. I genuinely care about others' well being and strive to help them in any way I can. Last year, a close friend of mine and I set off on a great road trip through the red centre of Australia. The sights and scenery were absolutely amazing, of course, though, it was the connections we had made with the local indigenous people that we really took most away from. Listening to their stories and learning about their ways (both the fortunate and the less fortunate) were truely the most touching moments of my life to date. After the trip I felt aware and understanding of the different cultures around me more than ever. We also pushed ourselves through some vigorous hiking and climbing. This really tested us at times, as we had to overcome a lot of inner fear and developed a lot of courage and experience through the harsh elements of the outback. A favourite quote of mine is: 'A thousand candles can be lighted from the flame of one candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened.
