About me

I wanted to become a social worker because I’ve always wanted to help people and make a meaningful impact in their lives. I’m passionate about supporting individuals who may be facing difficult circumstances, whether due to age, disability, mental health, or social challenges. The idea of being able to offer both practical support and emotional reassurance really motivates me. I believe I’ll be good at this role because I’m empathetic, patient, and a good listener. I treat people with respect and dignity, and I understand how important it is to build trust and offer consistent support. I’m also adaptable and able to stay calm in challenging situations. Whether I’m helping someone maintain their independence or simply being there to talk, I take pride in creating a safe and caring environment for others. Some of my hobbies include singing, cooking, walking, and spending time outdoors. I find that these activities not only help me stay positive and energized, but they also allow me to connect with others in meaningful ways. For example, singing can lift someone’s mood and create a fun, engaging environment, especially for those who may feel isolated or low. Cooking is something I enjoy, and I love preparing simple, healthy meals that can be shared with others. I also enjoy going for walks, which ties in well with encouraging clients to get outside for light exercise or fresh air. Spending time outdoors or doing light gardening helps me stay grounded and is something I’d be happy to share with those I support. These hobbies, combined with my strong communication skills, patience, and caring nature, make me well-suited to the responsibilities of this role, whether it’s offering companionship, supporting with errands and appointments, or helping someone develop confidence in everyday tasks. An interesting fact about me is that I come from a nursing background and am currently working as a personal carer. My experience in nursing gave me a strong foundation in understanding people’s physical, emotional, and mental health needs, and it taught me how important it is to provide care with empathy, patience, and respect. Working as a personal carer now, I continue to apply those skills every day, whether I’m assisting with daily tasks, offering companionship, or simply being someone clients can rely on. I’ve learned how to adapt to different situations and personalities, and I always aim to make the people I support feel safe, heard, and valued.
