About me

I’ve always been passionate about helping people! Even as a young kid, I remember sitting down to brainstorm solutions to the problems of people three - or sometimes even four - times my age… Whether or not they should have taken my advice is a whole other story though haha ;) The point is that, compassion and empathy are inherent qualities of mine. Caring comes so naturally to me (which isn’t always easy but it certainly makes for a motivated support worker!). This is exactly what drew me to support work almost six years ago and it’s the reason why I cherish this job each and every day! Two of my greatest loves in life are animals and plants! Every scenario where there is an animal or pet present is when I feel the most joy (I don’t currently have any clients with pets so I’d be delighted to support a client who also shares my passion for all creatures furry, scaly, or feathery). Gardening is a rewarding hobby of mine that brings me relaxation and lots of enjoyment. I love to propagate house plants and also grow flowers, herbs, and fresh produce from seeds outside in my veggie patch! Aside from these, I also love cooking, baking, arts and crafts, and aqua aerobics to name a few. I also have a bit of a passion for interior design and find great pleasure in organisation! I enjoy helping clients organise their home and living spaces, while creating thoughtful, intentional systems for managing their daily lives. I have a background in assisting clients with a variety of conditions, syndromes, and disorders. Some of which include ASD, intellectual impairments, epilepsy, depression, anxiety, ADHD, Alzheimer’s, and other forms of dementia. I am open to working with clients with more complex disabilities and I’m always keen to undergo additional training when necessary! I’m also going to begin my occupational therapy studies later this year (while still doing support work) so that I can develop my skill set and learn how to harness my nurturing abilities even further.
