I believe I will make a great support worker as I possess the people skills to genuinely care for others and make an impact. I have a lot of experience working with patients/clients in numerous different roles and work environments. I thoroughly enjoy working closely with people, my approach to others is very gentle, caring and kind,. I can also handle the unpredictable nature that humans can bear. It brings me great joy to help people through situations which they aren’t confident in, and creating a better outcome, therefore a better experience and a great rapport with the client/patient. I am very highly organised, prioritise tidiness and cleanliness every where I go and encourage others around me to create great good habits and also improve their lifestyle. I have a very strong work ethic and am very passionate about studying and further qualify to continually learn and grow.
I don't have any previous experience working as a Support Worker., however I am very willing to take on a new role as I’m desiring a career change.
What I do have is 10 years of experience working in medical/client care industry. For about 7 years I worked in a number of private dental practices in Sydney. My duties ranged from Clinical nursing to Client-patient customer service, General Administration and clerical duties, Taking Eftpos and Hicap payments to settle a clients bills, stock control and management, to laboratory work and sterilising instruments.
The role I recently resigned from working for NSW HEALTH after 3 years as I moved down the South Coast. I was employed permanent-full time in the Dental Emergency /Mobile Dentistry Department in South Sydney.
I gained a lot of experience working under high levels of Infection Control, Safe Work Practices, On-going practical Emergency Response Training via NSW Health, Working collaboratively with internal and external departments/ medical professionals throughout the public health districts of South East Sydney, Working with diverse people/clients of the public ; Mentally/Physically/ Intellectually disabled, Drug & Alcohol Abuse, Aboriginal/ Torres Strait Islander communities.
I also was re-deployed by the Chief Executive of NSW Health during the Sydney
Pandemic Lockdown where I worked 2 different temporary roles to assist the Public whilst the hospital was under restriction.
I assisted with the management for the HITH (Hospital In The Home) program at Sutherland Hospital where we looked after Covid Positive patients within my LGA during their isolation period. I received full training to become a qualified ward clerk during this time.
I also worked for the Vaccination Hub at St George Hospital where l acted in an Assistant In Nursing role. We assisted up to 1,250 patients a day on high demand.
I really try to make being clean and organised fun and not a chore. Playing light music during it, creating a reward for myself one I finish a set of tasks to motivate me. I also like to figure out ways to tweak furniture positioning to create better access or less clutter and things easier to organise/sort.
I have a strong passion for supporting your mental and physical health outside in nature, I am a very active person and thoroughly enjoy the outdoors.
Last year I high altitude trekked to the bottom of Mount Everest, I take that achievement and use it as a tool everywhere I go to deal with uncontrollable life situations and hope to inspire others to use the outdoors to bring them motivation and joy.
I love mixing life up and doing different activities, stepping out of comfort zone and learning new things. I love finding joy in any situation no matter what the weather brings either through activities such as board games, cooking, colouring/ painting or going for a drive to find an indoor activity to participate in. I love spreading positivity and seeing others have fun and grow by assisting them in taking steps out of their comfort zone.
