Hey there! I'm Ruth and I'm conscientious and considerate but also like to have fun and experience life. I love the beach, dogs and sunrises not always in that order, but that is why I love living in Bondi. I'm originally from Queensland and have lived in Sydney for nearly seven years. I do have my own car and I'm highly skilled in marketing and communications as my 9-5 profession. That career has taken me overseas where I've lived and worked in London and some of my fondest memories are of visiting the music venues, or seeing the famous or small intimate art galleries and fashion institutes like the Victoria and Albert Museum on weekends. I've also created and hosted events in Singapore, Melbourne and Sydney so I feel I am pretty organised! I'm a compassionate and empathetic person who has previously encountered the world of a carer via two avenues. One was during my time in the UK I worked with user-led and government organisations to develop what the NDIS style of program might look like for people living with disability in a British borough /council area. It was very rewarding and I met some interesting people through the experience. My dad also was cared for full time by my mum until he passed away. The impact that it had on our family (having someone who lived with disability and ill health for many years) was immense and so joining LikeFamily feels a good way to give back to the community who rely on care and support in life.
