I have successfully completed a Certificate IV in Mental Health, which has provided me with a solid foundation in supporting individuals with diverse mental health needs. I currently hold a Blue Card, First Aid certification, and an NDIS worker card, ensuring that I meet all necessary requirements to work safely and effectively within the community. At present, I am employed as a casual Social Support Worker for Like Family, and I have previously worked as a Mental Health Support Worker for another organisation. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and circumstances, spanning various age groups and health conditions.
My journey has instilled in me a profound sense of empathy and compassion for others. Having spent more than ten years in hospital, to cope with a range of complex health concerns, I have gained a genuine appreciation for the difficulties many people encounter. These personal experiences have had a significant impact on my outlook and continue to inspire my commitment to supporting others. I am driven by a sincere desire to help and serve, and I am passionate about guiding people as they strive to reach their ambitions and dreams. My goal is to encourage others, and I am dedicated to being part of their journey toward personal fulfilment.
My interests are varied and reflect my enthusiasm for both active pursuits and creative endeavors. I am an avid bird owner, having cared for birds for 17yrs and currently own 3 cockatiels and 2 quaker parrots. I enjoy arts and crafts, attending classes whenever possible to further develop my skills. Health and well-being are important to me, and I love bushwalking, swimming, going to the gym and different active classes, gardening and kayaking. I often take the opportunity to explore new areas, heading out on drives to discover different places on weekends, finding markets , 2nd hand shops and special places of interest.
Despite my love for adventure, I am also quite a homebody. I enjoy reading both fiction and non-fiction books and find relaxation in watching films.
