I want to become a social carer because I am passionate about supporting individuals with the care they require. I have raised three neurodivergent children of my own and I wish we had more supports when they were younger; my lived experience may benefit others and it is definitely a motivator of mine. I enjoy photography, visiting cafes, people watching, being outdoors on new adventures. I enjoy going to markets and fairs, I am adaptable, creative and spontaneous when I need to be. I have an autistic son that is now 25 years old. He struggled with mental illness which led him to be socially isolated for approximately 7 years. We survived it together and he continues to be my teacher which I believe provides me with an additional set of skills that may be utilised with others in similar circumstances.
