Hi My name is Palak, been a disability support worker for 2 years now. I have got certificate 4 in disability with all the relevant checks and modules. I have got experience in personal care such as ADLs, showering, grooming, continence management. I have worked with people having complex physical conditions or needing 24/7 care including multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, catheter care, paraplegia. I have been working with people of all ages including kids to teens to mid adults and with old aged people. I have also got experience in mental health complexities and other conditions such as ABI, ASD till level 3, bipolar disorder, addictions, sessions of screaming, crying, verbal abuse and physical abuse to an extent; autism, non verbal, anxiety, PTSD and many more. I have got my manual handling certificate and experience in using hoist, sara stedy, manual and electrical wheelchair. I have been interacting on a lot of occasions with allied health professionals. Personally, I am quite bubbly, empathetic, loves to chat but also respect boundaries and communication preferences. I enjoy cooking, cleaning, talking about different cultures with due respect. I can be a quite good companion in community settings as well along with planning personal goals and appointments. I have got my green Ps but saving up for the car atm, going to buy it in a month or so, happy to work early mornings to overnights, I am quite flexible in availability. Thanks and regards Palak
