I was motivated to become a Social Carer because I have always felt a strong connection with supporting people in their daily lives and helping them feel more independent, valued and included. I am an Occupational Therapist from Chile, and I have nearly six years of experience working with older adults, people with disabilities and vulnerable communities. Through this experience, I have learned how important it is to provide not only practical support, but also emotional connection, companionship and respect for each person’s individuality. I believe I will be good at this role because I am empathetic, reliable and patient. I truly enjoy building meaningful relationships and creating a safe and positive environment for the people I support. I am also currently studying a Diploma of Community Services in Australia, which is helping me continue developing my skills and understanding of person-centred care. Some of my hobbies include outdoor activities such as hiking and going to the beach, as well as staying active through exercise. I also enjoy spending time with animals, cooking, and connecting with people. I am passionate about helping others, especially older adults and people with disabilities, to feel supported, independent and included in their community. My key skills include empathy, patience, communication and reliability. I enjoy building meaningful relationships and creating a positive and safe environment for the people I support. An interesting fact about me is that I am originally from Chile and have a background in Occupational Therapy, with several years of experience working in community programs. I am currently living in Australia and studying a Diploma of Community Services, while improving my English and continuing to grow professionally. I am a caring, responsible and motivated person who truly enjoys supporting others and making a positive difference in their daily lives.
