About me

I was motivated to become a social carer/support worker because of a deep-rooted desire to make a tangible difference in people's lives. Growing up, I always had an inclination to help others, whether it was assisting family members, friends, or even strangers in need. Over time, I realized that I wanted to pursue a career where I could have a positive impact on a more profound level—helping individuals face challenges and supporting them in achieving their fullest potential. The motivation also came from seeing firsthand the difficulties that people, especially those facing disabilities, mental health struggles, or age-related challenges, often encounter. I recognized that many individuals feel isolated, misunderstood, or lack the support they need to lead fulfilling lives. I felt that becoming a support worker was a meaningful way for me to step in and help bridge those gaps. As for why I think I will be good at it, I believe I possess several key qualities that are crucial in this field I am passionate about empathy and compassion, advocacy and personal growth while my skills are good communication skills, teamwork and collaboration, patience and adaptability.
