I have been a Mental Health Nurse for 8 years, in Queensland, the ACT and currently NSW. I often notice how pleased our patients are in anticipation of meeting up with their support workers and enjoying some time in the community. I decided I would like to become a support worker to assist mental health patients return to community life and regain their independence. This new role has encompassed and broadened my client base and I am really enjoying working in the disability area. I love to take photos. This hobby takes me out in the bush or to the beach which has a positive impact on my own mental health. Before I became a nurse I spent much of my working life cooking professionally, at one point owning a Cafe in Canberra. Food remains a passion, eating and cooking it. I am always eager to enhance my skill set. I look forward to guidance and training to achieve this. I believe that continuous learning is essential for both my personal and professional growth which will ultimately benefit my clients.
