About me

I chose to become a Social Carer because I believe that no one deserves to feel alone. Sometimes a small moment of genuine presence, like a conversation, a smile, a hand held, can change someone’s day entirely. Supporting people with dementia, older adults and young people with Down syndrome has shown me how powerful companionship can be. Being there, listening, and helping someone feel safe and valued deeply rewarding... it’s a matter of human dignity. I know I will be good in this role because I lead with empathy, patience and respect. I don’t see this as “just a job”. I see it as showing up for someone who deserves connection and joy. I love sharing simple but meaningful moments, such as talking over a cup of coffee, going for a gentle walk, playing board games, listening to music, or discovering a story from someone’s past. I enjoy creating calm and positivity around others, and I’m always happy to adapt activities to what each person enjoys most. I bring over five years of experience supporting older adults, people living with dementia, and disabilities. In that time, I have built relationships grounded in trust, patience and genuine care. I speak English and Spanish fluently, and my own experience building a life in Australia has strengthened my ability to connect with people from different cultural backgrounds and to make them feel included and respected. I hold a Bachelor of Politics and Latin American studies from the University of Sydney, where I developed strong communication skills, cultural awareness and a deep appreciation for the value of community support. People who know me describe me as kind-hearted, reliable and someone who truly listens. About me is that the people I care for stay in my heart, because every person deserves to feel valued and never forgotten.
