Both of my daughters are disability workers, and I have seen first-hand how they make a difference in people's lives. I have experience providing social support to individuals with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. My most recent employment was as an Insurance Claims Specialist where I supported vulnerable people who had experienced natural disasters such as floods, fires, cyclones which required me to be patient, empathetic and organised. I own a reliable vehicle and am flexible with my availability and happy to travel within the Hills District or surrounding areas. I am of mature age and a resident in The Hills District. I’ve recently retired from full-time work and am looking to stay busy now that my youngest has finished high school. I’m a real ‘people person’ and would love to assist clients with their weekly errands, social outings, grocery runs or getting them safely to and from doctor’s appointments. I’m reliable, friendly, and always happy to chat while we get things done. My goal is to provide dependable support to those who need it, while enjoying the opportunity to build new friendships. I enjoy meeting new people from different walks of life and supporting them in their day to day lives. I am enthusiastic and love to support individuals in staying in touch with their activities and obligations. I enjoy watching movies, going out for a bite to eat, window shopping, puzzles and just having a good chat. My husband and I moved from South Africa to Australia in 1999. Our 3 children are now adults. I am looking forward to meeting new people, who like myself, don't have any immediate family around.
