I have found my experiences as a support worker to be really enjoyable and rewarding.
I am currently studying a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy and feel this work complements my studies well, as I love to support people and help add value and sunshine to their lives.
Plus, I enjoy a varied role, with potential for connecting with different people and doing a mixture of activities across multiple locations.
I have a generally upbeat and warm demeanour and love to connect with others. Helping people gives me a lot of fulfillment and purpose.
I love all sorts of things - art, craft, photography, life drawing, music, film, going to art galleries, book launches, interesting talks, exhibitions, comedy shows, theatre, ballet, workshops, markets, the library, community centers, book shops, op-shops, reading, baking, being in nature, walking, hiking, camping, travel, dancing, exercise, yoga, meditation, mindfulness practices, sound baths, breathwork, sauna, ice baths, wild swimming, the ocean, diving, snorkelling, surfing, cycling, I could go on… I can find joy and interest in most things. I love trying new things also!
I have mostly worked as a dive instructor, early years educator, and art teacher/facilitator in my life so far (among a wide variety of other jobs over the years), so I feel I have a lot of transferable skills, such as connecting quickly with new people, supporting a range of needs, finding common ground, and building trust. I am adaptable and enjoy connecting with others.
I am a bubbly, people-person and try to make the best of every situation. I see the humour in things, and find joy and bliss in the small, mundane moments of life.
