I want to be a social carer because I feel like It would be fulfilling to work with someone to upskill or reach a personal goal for themselves together. I’ve always enjoyed doing social activities in my personal life and I know that as a social carer I would offer that added company to allow someone to explore new adventures or build new skills with support. I’m passionate about my family and apart of that is quality time and doing activities together. Such as beach, nature walks, ferry rides in the city, fun indoor activities, camping, finding new recipes to cook together or baking for everyone. I’m a youth worker and part of our role is to allow the child to explore their likes and interests. Best part of this role is being able to highlight the child’s interest and get them involved in new activities that align with this interest. I feel I have the skill to really guide, teach and mentor someone through common or new activities they are interested in to boost their self confidence and bring some joy to their life.
