I have 5 grown children, so I have many years of caring, cooking, cleaning and dealing with challenges that life throws at you. I am enthusiastic, young at heart and have a sense of humour. I am up to date with youth culture particularly music and fashion. I am adventurous and love to travel. I have lived in an African village, rode camels in Egypt, quad bikes in Bali and cycled in Austria. I have visited Asia and Europe many times and would love to organise a fun holiday on a budget so you could see the world. I see life as an adventure. I embrace challenges and I am happy to try new things. Over the years I have worked with people with a huge range of abilities and a vast range of communication styles. My approach to work has always been person centred.I am honest, empathetic, hardworking, reliable, resourceful and witty. Humanity and people are important to me. I embrace individual uniqueness and feel strongly about individual autonomy and choice. In the morning we could do some research on the internet for a bush walk. We could chat and work out which walk the person would like to go on and whether its suitable. Prior to going we would plan how we will be getting there and what we need to take. Then we could prepare a nice picnic lunch to take on the walk in the morning. The person may have a favourite food to take, or we could brainstorm together or google ingredients we have and see what comes up. Making the picnic could be skill building or we can put on music and sing and make the chore fun. We could chat, listen to the radio, play games or keep in quiet if travelling in the car. If using public transport this may be used to develop skills in travel, social awareness or money if needed. On the bush walk we would walk at a pace suitable to the person. We can take pictures, play spotting games, take in the beauty around us and chat or google to learn about nature. We would find a nice spot to sit and enjoy lunch and share each others company. We could take our shoes off and do some earthing, lay on the ground watching clouds or take time to meditate quietly. On the way back we could talk about personal interest, current affairs or plans for the evening. I would ask if the person would like to plan an outing in the future to office works to print off the photos taken on the day and possibly making a memory book or collage of the pictures. When arriving home I would offer a drink, suggest a shower and a snack for afternoon tea.
