My name is Katie, I am 36 years of age and live in Western Sydney. I am currently working at Coles and have just completed my Certificate 3 in Individual Support (Aged Care). My experience is limited but regular; caring for my aged grandparents including shopping for /with them, cleaning for them, cooking for them, taking them to / from medical appointments and anything else they may require. I previously cared for my older sister post cancer treatment: bathing / dressing her, feeding her and assisting her with mobility. I have also had experience with family members who suffer from Autism, ADHD, ADD and ODD. I come from a very close family where we were taught that manners, love and helping others was what mattered. I love interacting with people: big and small, meeting new people and hearing about peoples life experience and journey. My biggest skill taught by my parents is 'how to love' - I think showing people that they matter, giving them your time and attention and being a part of their life is the best skill you can pass on to someone - it shows them they do matter and are loved. It sure doesn't hurt to smile and say hello, it could change someone's day.
