Hi, I’m Karen. I’m a friendly, caring and down-to-earth person who genuinely enjoys spending time with people and helping make their day a little easier and more enjoyable. I’ve spent many years working in administration and customer-focused roles, so I’m organised, reliable and a good communicator. More recently, I’ve been drawn towards support work because I really enjoy the personal connection that comes with helping others and being there for someone who may need a little extra support or companionship. I’m particularly interested in companionship and social support — whether that’s going out for a coffee, shopping, attending appointments, getting out into the community, going for a walk, helping with everyday errands or simply having a chat and some company. I’m patient, easy-going and comfortable talking with people from all walks of life. I’m also very respectful of people’s independence and understand that sometimes being a good support person is about listening, encouraging and allowing someone to do things at their own pace. Outside of work, I enjoy being out and about, travelling, homewares and interiors, creative projects, shopping, cafés and spending time with family and friends.
