Having an optimistic, helpful, friendly and sympathetic personality, I know I am capable to be a great social carer. I was a high school teacher and a student counsellor for over 10 years. Without telling people what I did before, nearly all of them think I was a teacher! I am self-disciplined, well-organized and always positive. Being a student counsellor for so many years, both parents and students found me I am a good listener, always ready to help and can be trusted. I am sure that everyone has his/her own story. Everyone needs to be cared and understood.
Being a full time mummy looking after the family (I have 2 school-aged kids) for another 10 years can train all the everyday survival skills. Cooking, cleaning, washing, buying groceries, taking kids to see doctors, dentists, specialists, optometrists, admitting to the hospital, rushing to the emergency department, buying medication from the pharmacy, taking public transport with kids, going to the museums, galleries, local parks, swimming pools, theme parks and joining all sorts of school holiday programs etc. I also looked after my sick father when he had a critical illness. I have been ‘trained’ with all the these skills for over 10 years!
I would like to share my skills like making origami, making craft, baking, teaching ELS students English in the community centre. I was used to teach a big class of over 40 students at high schools and a smaller group of 6 children at a Chinese school. I always enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge and skills with other people.
