About me

I enjoy spending time with family and friends and filling my days with active and productive, but not physically or mentally draining, activities. I also enjoy helping others to find what makes them tick. As such, I would love to be a Social Carer to assist people in filling their days with meaningful pastimes, conversations and connections within their own communities. My communicative, jovial and easy going demeanour mean that I can easily adapt to a person’s personality and match the energy they bring or just as easy be calming and conversational. I love to listen to people talk about something they are passionate about or, even better, when they can do the thing they are passionate about and share it with others. My experiences being a camp leader with Life Camps Australia (LCA) have also equipped me for this work. I have lead on many camps with ages ranging from 9 to 12 on some camps, and 12 to 15 on others. On these camps, I volunteered with an eclectic group of people from all around Australia, with varying ages and backgrounds. Communication, teamwork and fun being the main focus to provide smoothly functioning camp. Volunteering for LCA has allowed me to interact with people from walks of life I would never have otherwise. As such, I have confidence I would be able to positively interact with any clients I would take on. I am young and enthusiastic and love to have fun but can also have a serious and professional attitude. I am musical and love playing acoustic or electric guitar. I very lightly dabble in other instruments from time to time also. I like running and have completed a high country marathon at Mt. Buller. I like watching movies and reading books. My all time favourites for both are The Lord of the Rings. I am passionate about my Christianity and love to study it. I have a Certificate III in Christian ministry and theology. My Dad worked as a carer for autistic men and currently works for a man with cerebral palsy and a man with Down’s syndrome and my Mum is a nurse so I have a wealth of knowledge I can access via them. I have spent the last year completing the ADF gap year program and am looking for meaningful work as I transition out of that stage of my life.
