My mother suffered a stroke aged 55. It left her partially paralysed and unable to do many of the things we all do each day, for example drive a car, walk long distances or speak and write properly. I took on the responsibility of helping her with tasks, organising her appointments, travel etc. In Feb 2020, my sister, who suffers from an auto-immune disease, and arthritis asked me to move in with her to help her with the upkeep of the house, to cook meals, run errands etc in order to relieve her of the burden. I lived with her for 2 years and in March 2022 I moved to Fairy Meadow to live with my elderly parents and essentially be their "carer". I have taken on responsibility for the day-to-day tasks they're no longer able to manage. I take them to hydrotherapy, doctors appointments, grocery shopping, excursions for pleasure, etc. I'm good with new people, I'm gregarious and find it easy to talk to people and make them feel comfortable. I am employed part-time as a Cook at an aged care facility, I have a car and flexibility with my availability. I'm organised, resourceful, punctual, empathic and I take pride in my work. ^& ^&I can prepare meals, provide transportation, help organise appointments, assist with chores or just provide company if that's what's needed. ^&
