I wanted to become a social carer because I enjoy making meaningful connections with others. I believe this can enrich your own life, as well as the individual you're assisting or caring for, and it's incredibly rewarding to be able to help others in this capacity. My compassionate nature coupled with a warm, down-to-earth personality, and a bright disposition, I feel, are essential in this line of work. I'm a great communicator and listener, which I feel is essential in enabling others to feel heard and understood in social care work. Having worked for over 12 years in documentary television and filmmaking, I've drawn on these qualities to connect with people from all walks of life and authentically represent their stories. In my spare time you will often find me hiking and bushwalking, making pottery or photography. I enjoy art, nature and the outdoors. I've a strong background in community service having worked voluntarily in community gardens, and volunteer projects abroad (Ecuador).
