About me

I’ve been working as a Disability Support Worker since early 2019, and what motivates me most is helping people enjoy life, build confidence, and stay connected with their community. I really value creating meaningful relationships, not just providing support. I believe I’m a great fit for this role because I’m friendly, patient, and easy to get along with. I enjoy matching my support style to each person’s interests - whether that’s going out, trying new activities, or just having a good chat. My goal is always to help people feel comfortable, supported, and able to enjoy their day while building independence in a natural and fun way. I’m passionate about helping people stay active, social, and engaged in things they enjoy. I’ve had a lot of experience providing companionship and community access, including going to appointments, shopping, movies, community events, arts and crafts, bowling, and more. I’ve also supported participants to attend therapy sessions and spend time with animals, which is always a really enjoyable and meaningful experience. I also help with daily tasks like meal prep, household support, and building routines, while encouraging independence. I’m calm, organised, and always aim to create a relaxed, positive environment where people feel like they’re spending time with a friend. I have experience supporting people with autism, intellectual disabilities, dementia, and a range of support needs. I’m confident assisting with personal care, mobility support, and basic medication, while always keeping my approach respectful and person-centred. I’m reliable, flexible, and genuinely enjoy building strong connections with the people I support. I have a driver’s licence and am happy to assist with transport, outings, and community participation. My goal is not just to support daily tasks, but to help people enjoy life, try new things, and feel supported every step of the way.
