Hi, I’m Heather! I grew up in country Victoria and have lived all over Australia for the past 18 years. I'm currently studying to become a Primary School teacher, majoring in Special Needs Education. This path is close to my heart as I live with disability myself and have a deep passion for helping others. I’ve worked as a disability support worker for the past seven years in a variety of settings. I love building strong connections—many of my clients become like family. I’m calm, friendly, and flexible, and I work well with pretty much anyone, people who experience anxiety or need emotional support always respond well to my presence and communication. I enjoy being active and social with clients, but also love quieter activities like art, cooking, or working on life skills. I’m a great listener and communicator, and I always bring a positive, respectful attitude. I belong to a church with great community programs and am happy to include clients if they're interested in friendship and fun. I also live with Narcolepsy, so I value keeping active and engaged.
