About me

I’ve always had a strong interest in supporting and helping others, something that really grew during nearly 20 years of running my own small business. In that role, I loved supporting my team, learning together, and creating experiences that brought people together in meaningful ways. Over the past few years, I’ve also seen first-hand with close family members the incredible joy and growth that comes from being a support carer. I’m now at a stage in my life where I have the time and energy to focus on areas where I can really make a difference and contribute to things I’m passionate about. I think I would be good at this work because I’ve been fortunate to work in a variety of businesses and situations, which has given me a broad skill set and diverse interests. I genuinely enjoy helping others and look forward to learning from the people and experiences I’ll encounter as a support carer. The idea of being part of someone’s journey and supporting them to grow and thrive is something I find really exciting and rewarding. My family—my wife and three kids—are a huge part of my life and keep me inspired and happy every day. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial side, and over the years focused on helping small businesses grow. Working with businesses in a variety of industries from coffee roasting, events, green agri-tech , and media. I really enjoy supporting people and seeing the difference that support, experience and guidance can make. Outside of work, I’m a big fan of sports—watching on TV and going to games. I also love going for walks with our dog, eating out, and travelling when I can. Staying active, trying new things, and connecting with people are things I really enjoy, and I’m excited about bringing that energy and curiosity to my work as a social carer. I really enjoy being part of small teams and working together to get things done. I’m friendly, curious, and enjoy learning from new experiences and people, though I wouldn’t call myself an extrovert. I like being hands-on, supporting others, and helping a team or group achieve something meaningful—qualities I’m excited to bring to a role as a social carer.
