I am a Master of Social Work graduate, and I've just recently completed another Postgraduate degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling. I am currently open to casual shifts that does not require long-term commitments as I am eventually planning to transition into a professional role, plus I travel overseas from time to time.
As a support worker, I have supported individuals with various disabilities (both physical and mental), as well as their carers in navigating daily life and achieving goals. I have experience in PEG feeding, bowel and catheter care, personal care, hoisting, medication administration.
Nowadays, I am mainly working with clients with mental health challenges, and neurodivergent individuals. I provide them with mental health support, behavior support, social companionship, community access assistance, therapy support, social and living skills development support, transport support, and overall psychosocial support.
I am a reliable, calm, and empathetic individual with an approachable personality, a strong work ethic, and a keenness to learn. I enjoy meeting and interacting with individuals of all ages and from different walks of life.
In alignment with my educational background, my approach to working with people is person-centered, which means that I hold my clients' autonomy and right to self-determination in high regard. I am also trauma-informed.
I joined Hireup because I'd like to contribute to the community and make a positive difference by providing assistance to those with special needs, help them develop their innate capacities, achieve their goals, and improve their overall quality of life and sense of wellbeing. I truly take pride in doing this work.
My personal interests include outdoors and nature adventures, being around animals, being active, exercising, and playing sports, travelling, creating artwork, movies, music, cooking vegetarian food, practicing meditation and mindfulness, and connecting with others. I am also always open to try new activities.
