Hello to all potential Like Family Companions! I’m a reliable, compassionate, and enthusiastic support worker with a diverse range of life and work experiences. I love working with Like Family because I believe genuine connections, companionship, and kindness can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. Over the years, I have supported people of different ages and backgrounds, including older adults and people living with disabilities, autism, and mental health challenges. My experience has included providing companionship, assisting with daily activities, supporting independence, helping with community access, transport, and encouraging people to participate in activities they enjoy. I have my own Toyota Estima van, which allows me to provide reliable transport support for clients who may need assistance getting to appointments, social activities, shopping, community events, or other outings. I enjoy helping people stay connected with their community and maintain their independence. I consider myself a patient, understanding, and positive person who enjoys getting to know people as individuals and providing support that respects their choices, interests, and goals. Whether it is helping around the home, attending appointments, going for walks, engaging in hobbies, assisting with errands, or simply having a meaningful conversation, I value creating a safe and supportive environment where people feel respected and valued. My background in support work, tutoring, customer service, and working with diverse communities has helped me develop strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. I understand the importance of patience, reliability, confidentiality, and treating every person with dignity and respect. Outside of work, I enjoy music, singing, acting, travelling, reading, staying active, and learning new skills. I’m always looking for opportunities to grow as a person and continue developing my ability to support others. I look forward to meeting new people, building genuine friendships, and helping make everyday life a little easier, more enjoyable, and meaningful.
