About me

My interest in becoming a Social Carer comes from over 30 years of hands-on coaching and mentoring experience across swimming, basketball, and water polo. Working in sports, particularly in one-on-one private swim instruction, has taught me how to communicate effectively, build practical trust, and help individuals steadily develop their skills and confidence. I am looking to apply these practical skills to social support, focusing on helping clients stay active and engaged. I bring a strong background in physical safety and strict compliance, alongside the patience and discipline developed through regular exercise. As a local resident, I am well-equipped to assist with community outings, reliable transport, and aquatic activities. Additionally, I am capable of assisting with practical daily tasks, including healthy meal preparation and nutrition planning, ensuring clients receive dependable, structured support tailored to their specific goals I enjoy staying fit through surfing, resistance training and brazillian jiu jitsu. I enjoy cooking and learning about new cultures, and coaching individuals to build their skill development which is very rewarding Skills: Physical Safety & Compliance: managing physical safety, risk mitigation, and strict compliance frameworks in active settings. Aquatic Support & Water Safety: Advanced understanding of surf, beach, and pool environments, ideal for supporting clients safely in the water. Healthy Meal Prep & Nutrition: Skilled in planning and cooking clean, nutritious, and unprocessed meals to support client health and dietary goals. Effective Communication & Patience Ultimately, what drives me is a genuine enjoyment of helping people and supporting them as they gain their independence. Over my time in coaching and mentoring, I’ve found that the most rewarding part of the job is watching someone master a new skill, build their confidence, and become more self-reliant. I bring a patient, practical, and down-to-earth personality to social support. Whether it's teaching someone a skill in the water, helping them learn to prep healthy meals, or just being a reliable person they can count on for community outings, my goal is always to empower clients to achieve their personal goals at their own pace.
