Hi, my name is Arek, Caring and supporting others has always been a passion for me. I Was employed as a teacher aide and a liaison officer for four years. During my employment I have Assisted children with disabilities, and Running playgroups for parents. I was operating my own family day care at home for three years. My role was to ensure health and safety of the children, Encouraging positive behaviour at all times, engaging children in age appropriate activities and picking and dropping children to and from school. During my employment I have gained many experiences.I have very much enjoyed helping young children learn and assisting parents meet their needs. Many years later i realised I enjoy supporting others to achieve their goals and feel great about themselves. I am changing my career to community work and disabilities studies. I have a certificate in Disability and aged care. I am currently studying certificate 4 in disability to gain more knowledge and become qualified. I am a hard worker with excitement to learn and gain new experiences. My strength skill is to learn and remember tasks extremely quickly. I have worked with different ethnic backgrounds, individuals and environment, therefore my communication skills are profound. I can speak three languages,(Arabic,English and Dinka. I have excellent organisational skills, self-time management skills and always making sure work is completed to high quality. I am confident I can meet targets with given deadlines and contribute my skills to an organisation. I enjoy cooking, shopping and cleaning. I am able to provide personal care, prepare food, feed and clean if needed. I am able to join them in different activities. Provide Transportation. I would make sure their needs are met professionally and without delays. I have gained new experiences while working in a group home. These are some of the support I have provided. Taking client to doctors appointment and medical reviews, cleaning and doing their shopping. Feeding’s, showering and dressing,Planning activities with clients, Budgeting their money, Manuel handling and observation of behaviours and writing progress notes.
