I wanted to become a social carer because I enjoy connecting with people and building meaningful relationships, while also valuing the flexibility that the role can offer. What motivated me to become a social carer is the opportunity to support individuals in a practical and personal way, helping them navigate challenges and improve their quality of life. I believe I will be good at this role because I am compassionate and patient, and my previous experience in accounting has trained me to be detail-oriented, organised, and attentive—skills that are essential when managing care plans and supporting individuals effectively.
I am passionate about supporting others and creating a positive, caring environment where people feel respected and valued. I enjoy helping individuals maintain their independence and wellbeing, and I find it very rewarding to make a difference in someone’s daily life.
I am volunteering as a librarian. This role has helped me build patience and the ability to assist people in a calm and supportive way. Additionally, as a music lover and pianist in church, playing music has also strengthened my ability to connect with others emotionally and create a comforting atmosphere. I have also worked as a teacher assistant in children’s programs at my church, where I supported activities, helped manage the classroom, and assisted children in their learning and activities.
I have good communication and interpersonal skills, and I am empathetic, reliable, and respectful when working with people from different backgrounds. In my free time, I enjoy music, reading, and being involved in community activities, which reflect my caring and supportive nature.
Although my experience is not from a formal job, I have supported children with ADHD and autism, which has helped me develop patience, understanding, and the ability to respond to different needs. I also have close relationships with some elderly individuals, which has given me insight into their challenges and how to support them with respect and compassion. I believe I understand their needs well, and I have both the experience and passion to work with vulnerable people.
