About me

I chose to become a Social Carer because I value the importance of supporting people to live with dignity, choice, and independence. I’m motivated by the opportunity to contribute to individuals’ wellbeing by assisting with everyday tasks and helping people reach their personal goals, whatever those may be. I believe in providing support in a way that respects each person’s preferences, rights, and identity. I think I am suited to this role because I am reliable, respectful, and attentive to the needs of others. I take time to listen, follow individual support plans, and work within professional boundaries. My training and experience have helped me understand the importance of person-centred support, clear communication, and creating safe, inclusive environments for everyone I work with. I approach the role with professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to continuous learning. I enjoy activities like walking, listening to music, reading, and travelling. These interests help me stay balanced and also align well with the types of activities many people I support enjoy. Whether it’s going for a walk together, listening to music, or planning a community outing, I find these moments valuable for building connection and encouraging participation. I’m patient, calm, and adaptable, with a strong focus on respectful communication. I enjoy supporting people in doing the things they care about, and I always aim to provide support that reflects each individual’s choices and goals. I bring a calm, reliable, and professional approach to my work, with a strong commitment to person-centred support that respects individual dignity, privacy, and choice. I take pride in building positive working relationships and supporting people to achieve their goals in a safe and inclusive environment. In addition to my support work training and experience, I also have a background in IT, which helps me with tasks such as digital documentation, communication tools, and learning new systems used in care settings. I am comfortable using technology to enhance service delivery and maintain accurate records. I’m also open to feedback and committed to continuous learning and professional development.
