About
My passion about empowering people to live more independently, confidently, and creatively, motivates me to become a social carer. My journey into support work comes from a deep commitment to community, healing, and skill-building. I’ve spent several years involved in charity work in Dubai, UAE (Sri Lankan Welfare Organisation), offering hands-on support to individuals facing hardship—and that experience taught me the value of compassion, patience, and presence. I also bring a strong background in therapeutic practices, including hypnotherapy, mindfulness, and art therapy. These skills allow me to support clients not just with practical tasks, but also in managing anxiety, building emotional resilience, and finding joy in self-expression. In addition to my therapeutic background, I run baking and cooking classes that help participants develop daily living skills in a fun, relaxed environment. Whether we’re baking a cake or learning kitchen safety or food safety, my focus is always on building confidence and independence—at each person’s own pace. I bring my 17 years of baking training and Pastry chef career experience to social work which enhances the value of the service. I believe support work is about more than just providing help—it’s about creating space for growth, creativity, and connection. Utilising the empathy I naturally carry gained through my therapy education and profession will be a great asset in the field of social carer work. I'm a certified Clinical Hypnotherapist working as a freelancer at Perth Healthcare centre A certified mindfulness coach A certified therapeutic Arts Practitioner A baking trainer/teacher with 17 years of experience I have always found joy and meaning through creative and mindful expression. Whether I’m painting, baking, dancing, or meditating, each practice helps me connect with myself and others in a deeper way. Art allows me to explore emotions beyond words, creating space for healing and self-expression. Baking and cooking are how I nurture—bringing people together through shared experiences, smells, and flavours that evoke comfort and pride. Dancing and singing are my purest forms of joy and release—ways I connect to rhythm, body, and spirit. Through meditation and yoga, I’ve learned to slow down, breathe, and truly listen—skills I now love sharing with others to support mental and emotional wellbeing. Each of these passions isn’t just a hobby—they’re tools for connection, confidence, and creativity. I love using them to help others grow, heal, and celebrate who they are. I bring a calm, compassionate, and creative approach shaped by my experience as a therapist, teacher, artist, and mindfulness coach. I'm deeply intuitive, patient, and adaptable—passionate about helping others grow, express themselves, and find balance in their daily lives.
