About

Supporting and helping the people around me has always been an important part of who I am and brings me happiness. I love being there for others, whether they’re family, friends, coworkers, or strangers. It feels great to see someone take even small steps toward a goal that matters to them, and to celebrate their progress together. Being able to support people directly in ways that are meaningful to them is a natural extension of that caring attitude. In past jobs, I’ve worked on community health programs and international development projects, mostly from behind a computer. Now, I want to split my time between desk work and hands-on support in the community, because that’s where I feel I can make the biggest difference. About my hobbies and interests: I have a curious and caring mind. I love learning about the world—its people, animals, and environment. This interest led me to study International Studies at university. As an adult, I’ve traveled to many cities and countries, meeting new people, trying different foods, and exploring different ways of thinking. When I was in school, I learned to play the trumpet and guitar, enjoyed various crafts, and loved solving puzzles. I also liked playing sports like swimming, tennis, netball, basketball, and football. Even if I wasn’t the best at these activities, I never missed a chance to get moving and have fun. Now, I walk my two dogs every day, which I enjoy a lot. The slower pace helps me notice the little wonderful things in nature around me. Some personal qualities I have include being caring, thoughtful, respectful, patient, calm in tough situations, and focused on safety. These traits are partly shaped by my own experiences with neurodivergence and ongoing health challenges. I’ve also spent time working with children as an au pair, babysitter, and in classrooms, volunteered in care homes for older people, cared for my aging parents, and spent lots of time with my many nieces and nephews.
