About

My motivation to become a Social Carer is centred on supporting the whole person, with a focus on emotional wellbeing, independence, and respecting each individual’s unique needs and preferences. As a mum to two neurodivergent children, I’ve developed strong patience, insight, and resilience, along with a broad understanding of mental health and the many ways people experience life. I also cared for my elderly mother during her journey with dementia before she transitioned into aged care. These experiences have given me valuable lived experience, practical skills, and a genuine commitment to providing thoughtful, person-centred support. In my work, I focus on building trust and connection through simple, meaningful interactions. I aim to support individuals to feel confident, respected, and empowered, while encouraging participation in activities that bring a sense of enjoyment, purpose, and achievement. I bring a calm, compassionate presence, along with a positive outlook and a sense of humour, creating safe and supportive environments where people feel valued, at ease, and truly seen. I enjoy supporting people through everyday activities such as walks in nature, creative art and craft, attending appointments, running errands, or simply sharing conversation and companionship. I aim to support people in ways that build confidence, encourage independence, and allow them to participate in activities that are meaningful to them. Interests & Activities: Nature Walks • Creative Arts & Crafts • Animals & Horses • Mindfulness Activities • Community Outings • Gentle Companionship •Traveling • History & Archaeology •Mythology & Folklore Caring for my elderly rescue horse, Ollie, has taught me patience, attentiveness, and the importance of creating a safe and nurturing environment where everyone feels comfortable and at ease. I carry these lessons into my support work, encouraging connection through simple, meaningful experiences—whether that’s sharing a quiet moment with a horse, spending time outdoors, or engaging in gentle art and craft activities that promote creativity, mindfulness, and confidence. My goal is always to ensure the people I support feel not only cared for, but also empowered and supported in ways that suit them best.
