About
For the past eight years, I’ve been a stay-at-home-mum, taking care of my three kids. During this time, I’ve learned a lot about patience, empathy, and the importance of supporting others. Now that they’re in school, I’ve got a bit more time on my hands and I’ve been thinking about how I can make a positive impact. At this stage in my life, I’m excited to give back to my community and do something that feels really fulfilling. I love connecting with people and helping them feel seen, heard, and happier. I think becoming a social carer would be a great way to use my skills in empathy and communication to make a real difference in people’s lives. I enjoy connecting with others and brightening their day, especially when I can help put a smile on someone’s face. I love having meaningful conversations, whether it’s sharing my own stories or hearing about others' experiences. It’s this desire to connect and help that motivates me to make a difference whenever I can. In my free time, I like to stay active and spend time outdoors. I’ve recently gotten into meal planning and cooking, and I enjoy experimenting with new recipes for my family and friends. It’s always fun to try something new in the kitchen. I also enjoy running on trails or at the beach, as well as family bike rides and beach days. When we’re not outside, I love reading and playing games with my kids. Another hobby I’ve picked up is thrift shopping, where I get a kick out of finding hidden gems and giving things a second life. It’s a fun way to be creative and find unique items on a budget. Through my experiences, I’ve developed strong communication and interpersonal skills, whether it’s through casual conversations or helping others feel heard. Being a caregiver has taught me patience and adaptability, and my interest in cooking, organizing, and thrift shopping has helped me build skills in planning, creativity, and resourcefulness. I believe these skills, along with my natural inclination to help, would allow me to make a positive impact in a social care role. I get a kick out of helping people get organized, whether it's revamping their kitchen space, tidying up their bedroom, or sorting through their wardrobe. There's something satisfying about creating order out of chaos! I also enjoy sharing little life hacks that I've learned over the years to make everyday life easier. Whether it's a clever storage tip or a simple routine to save time, I love finding ways to make people's lives a little more efficient and stress-free.
