About
Over many years of working in corporate leadership training but also providing one-on-one coaching and mentoring in my community, I became increasingly aware of what truly fulfils me: genuine, personal human connection. In a world where we often think globally and chase big-picture goals, it’s easy to overlook the people right in front of us - our neighbours, our local community, and those who may be experiencing loneliness or isolation. I realised that the “human skills” I’m passionate about (empathy, emotional intelligence, active listening and genuine understanding) have the greatest impact when shared one-on-one with someone who simply needs support and connection. As time went on, one insight led to the next, and I find myself naturally drawn toward more meaningful, person-centred interactions. My personal experience caring for my dad had also a profound influence on me. It reminded me just how much compassion, presence and simple acts of kindness matter, and how deeply they can change someone’s day or even their life. All of this guided me to becoming a Social Carer as it aligns deeply with my values. My desire is to make a positive difference in our community, in a way that feels authentic, grounded and human. I’m empathetic, calm, reliable and genuinely interested in people. I connect easily, listen deeply and enjoy helping others build confidence and independence. My background in hospitality and later in human-centred leadership means I adapt well to different personalities and create a warm, safe and supportive environment for the people I work with. Some of my hobbies include cooking, exploring new recipes and sharing meals with others. I originally trained as a chef, and I still love using food as a way to connect with people and bring a little joy into everyday life. I also enjoy getting outdoors, going for walks, discovering local cafés and exploring new places in the community. I’m passionate about human connection as well as mental and emotional wellbeing. Whether it’s supporting someone get out in the community, supporting their daily routines, cooking a healthy hearty meal or having a meaningful conversation, I genuinely enjoy making others feel seen, heard, valued and supported. An interesting fact about me is that I’ve spent many years helping people build confidence, resilience and wellbeing through coaching, mentoring and human-centred leadership programs. This experience has taught me to stay calm under pressure, listen without judgement and adapt to each person’s unique needs and cultural background. My international experience has strengthened my appreciation for diversity and taught me how important it is to understand people’s individual needs. I’m someone who values kindness, reliability and genuine connection, and I take pride in creating a warm, safe and uplifting experience for the people I support.
