About
For the past 13 years I have ran my own family day care business. I thoroughly enjoyed building strong relationships with both the children and their families. In particular, children with additional needs such as ADHD, Downs Syndrome and social anxiety. I have also done casual work supporting an NDIS client with meal preparation and transport for social access in their community. I have also helped care for my elderly parents by completing general households maintenance, driving to appointments and care whilst recovering from major surgeries. I feel a great sense of purpose helping and caring for others. I am most passionate about family and my animals. I have raised three children, as a single parent, who are now all young adults. I have two border collie dogs and horses that I love spending time with. I am at my happiest when spending time outdoors. In the past I worked in the financial sector for 12 years and also as a mentor to parents helping them to engage with their children through fortnightly home visits and delivering activity packs. I loved being involved in my local football and netball club as a player and then as a volunteer coach and mentor to both junior and senior players. I am organised, motivated, caring and supportive. I think my main skill is building strong and trusting relationships.
