About

My motivation to become a social carer stems from a desire to work in a job that fulfils me and allows me to make a meaningful impact. This is exemplified by my current studies in psychology, which aim to prepare me for a career as a clinical psychologist. I believe I will thrive as a social carer, not only because of my drive to help others, but also because of my energetic, upbeat personality, as well as being organised and constantly striving for efficiency. I have high standards for myself and my output in all aspects of life, which is why I aspire to work in fields that help others. The reward of making a meaningful, positive impact on others is something that inspires and gratifies me. I am a lover of the outdoors and nature, having lived on a farm, being with animals and nature always brings me joy. I am also passionate about the gym and fitness. I often find myself at the gym in my free time and when I need a release. Having played sports all my life, I have always enjoyed being able to channel my energy. I also enjoy anything creative, such as arts, crafts, music and reading; however, being good at it is another thing, but I enjoy the process. Before moving to Melbourne for university, I worked as a pharmacy assistant, which is where I was first inspired to pursue a career in caring. Witnessing countless carer and client interactions, especially for regulars, offered me insight into the impact a good or bad carer can make on a client, especially when people have the wrong motivations to enter this field. This is what inspired me not only to pursue this work but also to create a positive impact on people.
