I love working with people! I have three children so i have spent a lot of time cooking, cleaning and looking after them. I have a large family, so I have had a lot of experience in lots of areas and especially love cooking and taking care of people. I was born in England, and came to Australia when i was 24 years old. It was when i had a lightbulb moment and wanted to study while having my small family so that i could gain my qualifications, putting it to use to help people in their lives through active listening, caring and understanding. I have always enjoyed social roles hence why i now work in aged care helping the elderly, even if just for someone to be there to talk with, and i have found that this alone makes a huge difference, when people feel heard. Because i was new to Australia i found it hard to fit in because i felt different, not having any roots here or knowing where places were. If it wasnt for being able to meet new people and gain new experiences, i would not have had the courage to be able to complete my studies and be in a position where i now want to give back to society. Going to help someone in need to help them cook, clean, go to the shops, or even to sit with chatting, in a sense counselling people, so i can help individuals feel heard, listened to, and that they matter I currently hold now a bachelors and honours degree in psychology, a honours degree in counselling and currently completing my masters in counselling.
