I wanted to become a Social Carer because I genuinely enjoy supporting and helping others to live a happy, meaningful and independent life. I find it rewarding to build positive relationships with new people and make a difference, no matter how small that difference may seem. I believe I will be good at this role because I am patient, reliable and empathetic. I take the time to listen, understand individual needs and adapt my support to suit each person. I am also committed to creating a supportive environment where people feel comfortable, valued and understood. I enjoy being outdoors going for a run or heading to the gym to move my body and stay fit. I also enjoy listening to all types of music and enjoy cooking as well. I’m currently studying a teaching degree so I enjoy understanding how different people learn in many ways and being able to co regulate people’s emotions. Additionally I’ve completed placements at both primary school and secondary schools where I’ve had to deal with young children’s emotions from prep- year 10. During the last half of last year I worked as a learning support officer at Buckley Park College helping students with high needs and supporting them in class whilst also offering them brain breaks if they heightened in emotions.
