From a young age, I started working as a babysitter and would also volunteer at our church on a regular basis. I also enjoy teaching and tutoring. Over the last 2 years I have been teaching others how to crochet and do patchwork/quilting. I was born and raised in Mexico, so I am also fluent in Spanish. I also really enjoy cooking and baking, especially traditional Mexican recipes, which can be hard to find here. I have always enjoyed helping others and I am currently looking into getting my diploma in counselling. I am also an ordained minister with The Southern Cross Association of Churches and Ministries and have worked in various ministries and churches, helping individuals from many different backgrounds and different problems and issues. Last, but not least, I am a mother of 2 young boys, which has helped me work with my patience and has put many of my skills to the test.^& ^&I will share one of the ways I am already doing this. I meet with an older lady, whom I will refer to as Syl. We get together most weeks for around 2 hours and spend that time talking and enjoying each other's company. Syl and I have been meeting on a regular basis for around 2-3 years. In this time, I have taught her how to make her own patchwork quilt. We have also done some baking together and enjoyed some time gardening as well. I have also gotten to know Syl's husband and their sweet old dog. She has become a close friend over the years and she is now like grandmother to my children, who love her very much. ^&
