About

With over 20 years’ experience as a Support Worker, I bring compassion, patience and a genuine love of connecting with people. I take pride in building meaningful relationships, making clients feel valued, and brightening their day with humour, kindness, and understanding. Known for creating a positive and supportive environment, I focus on enhancing quality of life through both companionship and practical assistance. Clients have often described me as someone who brings warmth and “a bit of sunshine” to their lives, which I consider the most rewarding part of my role. Outside of work, I enjoy creative hobbies such as knitting, baking (my chocolate afghans are a family favourite), and diamond art, as well as spending time with family, walking, and enjoying good films and music. I also have a great love for animals and plantlife. I am currently enjoying learning more about Australia since moving from New Zealand. I am passionate about providing companionship, assisting with community outings and supporting people with transport to appointments, shopping, and social activities. Since leaving NZ and assisting there with personal care as a level 4, I am now seeking to focus on a Social Carer role only. My NZ qualifications are not recognised here so I am currently studying for my L3 certificate in Individual Support. I value the opportunity to build trusting relationships, share meaningful conversations over a cuppa and bring positivity into people’s daily lives. After many rewarding years as a Support Worker, I am looking forward to continuing to make a difference in a way that balances my experience with my health.
