About

Hello, My name is Yodit, and I’m delighted to be a part of the Like Family community. Those closest to me often describe me as caring, sociable, and a great listener. I have a genuine passion for food, making me a self-professed foodie. With a background in psychology, I have dedicated the past decade to working with children and adults, specializing in areas such as child safety, one-on-one support, NDIS individuals, and community support. My greatest joy comes from supporting individuals and young people to achieve independence and work towards their goals. Cultivating an understanding of their cultural backgrounds is essential in this journey, as it aids in accessing the community and fostering independence. I chose to join Like Family because their core principle resonates deeply with mine - ensuring everyone in the community feels a sense of belonging and receives the support they need to lead fulfilling lives. Outside of work, you’ll often find me baking, cooking, engrossed in a book, or exploring the serene beauty of the bush or the beach. I am available Monday to Saturday at any time, ready to make a positive difference in the lives of those I support. I would make a great social carer because my ability to empathize with others as well as my dedication, and ability to connect with others make you a great social worker. Furthermore, my commitment to helping people and making a positive impact sets me apart. I personally think it’s very important at the beginning to understand the child’s hobbies first, and after building that relationship, I would share my hobbies and skills, in addition, I would also make it interactive and fun! Whether it's through storytelling, simple activities, or hands-on experiences or tailoring my approach according to their age and interests. Furthermore, showing my genuine enthusiasm, and they'll likely catch onto my passion. Warm regards, Yodit
