Sue is a Support Worker with a desire to work with people and make a positive impact in their lives. 16 years ago, Sue successfully started an online business due to requiring the flexibility to support her son as his Carer with diagnosed Autism, ADHD, Anxiety and Depression. However, Covid impacted her business, hence she decided on a new career plan once realising her passion lies in helping others, therefore, she completed Certificates III and IV in Community Services. The skills and personal qualities Sue developed within her roles as Carer, Business Owner and Support Worker include: problem solving, being able to listen to clients and their families, whilst allowing them to talk freely and openly. Sue also has a strong administration background, therefore, has the ability to assist clients with any paperwork and finance requirements. Sue is known by colleagues and clients for being reliable, compassionate, caring, and empathetic and does her best to work according to the client's instructions and following care plans. Sue is inspired daily by her husband and their two adult children. In her free time, she likes to go on long walks, go out for coffee and a movie, or doing something creative, like amateur drawing; craft; or, colouring-in. She also likes spending quality time with family, playing board games & basic cards, as well as socialising when she gets the opportunity. Additionally, she would like to take up knitting again one day. Sue believes that all skills combined will assist her career within the health sector through enabling her to create strong relationships with clients and allowing her to organise her workload effectively and is confident this is the right career plan for her and is fully committed to any challenges ahead and hopes with her determination she can reflect this in her career within the field.
