I want to be a social carer so I can continue to utilise my therapeutic and clinical skills while not being in the social work field full time. I am passionate about helping people to achieve their full potential and live in a way that feels fulfilling to them. I think I will be good at this job as I have a masters degree in social work, am empathetic, highly reflective and have strong communication and therapeutic skills. I have copious experience working with people with complex medical, emotions and behavioural needs, and am able to adapt my skillset to suit an individual’s needs. I am passionate about utilising my therapeutic skills to support people in a way that respects their individuality and promotes a sense of safety and trust. My skills include therapeutic crisis intervention, case management and active listening. I am emotionally aware and adaptable, and able to respond to people in a compassionate way while ensuring tasks are completed. My hobbies include gardening, insect photography, console gaming and spending time with my family.
