Hi, my name is Vanita, Tell us why you would make a great Hero. I have had a couple of professional careers and now I want to give back to my community. I have had a long career in IT and have enjoyed mentoring and developing people along the way. I enjoy social interactions with people from diverse backgrounds because there is so much to learn and so much we have in common as humans. I have an elderly mother and while she is independent, she does require help with all her IT needs, bills, shopping etc, and I enjoy helping her. I travel extensively and have always included her in my trips. I used to take my dad along too, even while he was in a wheelchair until he passed away in 2013. I miss him dearly to this day. I have 3 grown children all with partners and I recently became a grandma. My kids are half Indian and half Dutch, one is half English, their partners are from diverse backgrounds, Japanese, Fijian-Australian, English-Vietnamese and my husband is Australian-German. So diversity is the way we roll in our family. I have an outgoing, friendly personality and my passion is quilting, sewing, knitting & Crochet and movies ofcourse. I like making people happy, that brings me great comfort and joy as our time on this planet is short and we need to make the most of every second. Tell us how you will share one of your skills or hobbies to help someone in our community. I love sewing and teach a class, so I would love to assist with craft activities. I also assist my parents with all their IT needs like email, bill paying etc, so I can be useful in that aspect too. What is a quote that inspires you? Where there is love, there is life.
