About

I'm drawn to a career as a Social Carer because I believe my personality and strengths align well with the role. According to Gallup's assessment, responsibility is my key strength, and throughout my corporate career, colleagues have consistently recognised my genuine care for others. This combination of accountability and empathy positions me well for social care work. Beyond the practical fit, I'm motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives. The prospect of combining purpose-driven work with an income appeals to me greatly. My hobbies reflect my love of both outdoor activity and intellectual engagement. I maintain about 10 acres in Wamboin, which keeps me consistently busy with seasonal gardening tasks—weeding and mowing are perpetual pursuits, especially during the warmer months. I'm an active person who enjoys swimming and has always appreciated sports, both as a participant in my younger years and as an enthusiast now. I have a real passion for puzzles in all forms—jigsaws, word puzzles, and sudoku—as well as board and card games. Beyond these individual pursuits, I genuinely enjoy connecting with people. I'm a thoughtful listener and find deep satisfaction in learning about others and understanding what makes them unique as individuals. I studied Archaology at university - which is what brought me to Australia 30+ years ago from the US. Studying and practicin archeology enabled me to see some interesting and sometime remote parts of the world, experience the present while digging up the past.
