About

I'd like to become involved with helping other people in some small way – it's hard to describe. I love chatting with strangers, passing on a compliment, and I think that does make that person feel better about themselves and have a better day. Although I have no formal qualifications in this area, I'm very good at listening and getting to know people at their own pace. I'd like to be able to prepare an activity or plan an outing for a person who may be needing that boost. I'm very crafty and enjoy all things art and making things – I'd rather make something I see in a shop than buy it! I'm constantly making things to sell at our school markets for fundraising, for friends, or just because! .... Perhaps there are some clients who'd like to get creative? I also love cooking, being outdoors picnicking or walking, going to the movies – or just playing cards, board games and having a chat. For a long time I've wanted to be more involved volunteering to help people in need, but with the pressures of life, family, house etc, my energies have been focused on those areas. As a Graphic Designer by trade, I now work for myself, so I can put aside some time per week to perhaps visit some people and hopefully brighten their day – and mine too! I would like work within school hours to start with, and then progress to longer hours and weekends as I meet new clients and fit into their schedules as well.
